Day #59 – Here is the last in my series of family portraits. The third shot of my mom. Who was riding in the back seat on a mini rod trip to go visit my sister after Christmas. Hi Mom. Shot with a Canon 7D with a Zeiss 35mm f2. I like the background colors and how the dark jacket really makes her face pop.

Day #58 – Snow flurries falling, settling on bushes, roofs, swirling into drifts, and lining window sills. People complain about winter, I’m not one of them. I love it. ISO 400, 35mm, f2, 1/500th shutter. This is a bark on trees shot.

Day #56 – Brownie is my family’s long haired Dachshund. I picked him out from a pet store as a puppy over 15 years ago. Fifteen is long life for a wiener dog. While he’s now grey in the face, blind, and mostly deaf – he is still one of the most unique animals I’ve ever known. In his prime, he stole food off the table, candy from purses, and wasn’t afraid of the biggest dog in the neighborhood. When his long coat is puffed out – his hair resembles his inner lion spirit. For this mini portrait series on my family, it would be inappropriate not to include an image of Brownie. He is a legend and a small dog with a gigantic heart.

Day #53 – Continuing in my mini series of family photos, here is my sister Lindy and my dad. Lindy came up from Columbus to celebrate the holidays with us. She has been very busy with her job as a nurse since graduating as a RN in the spring. Hi Fish Dog.

Day #51 – For day number fifty I shot my mom on the phone. A day later, I followed my dad around with the Canon 7D until he smiled. He was wondering why I was shooting so many photos of him. I think I’m going to stay in the mini-theme of my family and taking Close Up portraits.
