Art Pants is a 365 day-long-daily-photography-challenge, featuring Will Roegge and Linhbergh Nguyen which was started on November 1st, 2009. Our goal is to each publish one photograph a day for an entire year. But different from usual "photo 365s" out there, we've set ourselves a rules to abide by throughout the year:
1. No photos of anything automobile related
2. No self portraits.
Both of those rules are there to prevent us from going the easy route on taking our daily photos, or in other words, to use a crutch. The purpose of this project is to make the both of us think outside of our usual subjects and expand our creative defaults. The harder we make it upon ourselves, the better off we'll be creatively (or so we hope so!) come Novemeber 1st 2010.
We'll also be having different 'theme weeks' throughout the year. These themes could range from different subject matters; places, portraits, grass, sunrises, landscapes, faces, etc, etc. Or it could even be a technical theme; biggest aperature, smallest aperature, slow shutter speeds, 35mm film, camera phone fast action, etc....
We would love to hear your input throughout the course of the year. If you have ANY ideas for theme weeks or shots you'd like to see, let us know!
Oh, we both love black coffee and we both love Art Pants.

Day #114 – Thuy earned massive Kabob points with Linhbergh’s posts. She is going to earn more with this post as well. Somewhere in the bokeh’d background of this image is the Grand Canyon. But who cares!? There is human subject – which is far more interesting than a bunch of eroded rock beds. As...
There’s a story to everything in life. Even the simplest to the most intriguing of things have something to tell. Take this abandoned house for example. This house looks as though it was just recently abandoned. All the other buildings in the area looked as though they’ve been abandoned a lot longer than this house...
Day #113 – “I’m Really Awesome At Being Humble” reads Linhbergh’s t-shirt. Fitting for a man whose metaphorical cube is as large as a desk. Good thing our ladders are upright and to infinity. Storms are inconsequential and cannot distract us from our goals. Now if only my horse would stop licking me and let...
Trust me when I tell you that behind Thuy is standing right at the Grand Canyon. Seriously, you have to trust me on this. ARTPANTS 1 person likes post. NEVERMIND!

This past weekend Will definitely completed his kabob punch card and even moved on to a whole new punch card. What is this kabob madness I speak of? This. ARTPANTS 2 people like this post. NEVERMIND!
Day #111 – When I was a kid and living in Ohio my family took a vacation to visit New Mexico and Arizona. We visited the Meteor Crater, the Petrified Forest, Santa Fe, Walnut Canyon, and the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon makes most natural wonders look amateur. Its scale was the first element that...
The Grand Canyon is one of those places that really do live up to all the hype. The moment to step out next to the railing that overlooks the canyon, the need to speak stops dead in its tracks. Even as you stand there looking at the vast expanse, you can’t help but think that...
The way American abstract expressionist painter, Richard Diebenkorn, broke down his beach side surroundings of Santa Monica, California, in the famous Ocean Park series, into abstract compositions is something that I hugely influences me whenever I take wide landscape style photos. This particular photo has a quite the Diebenkorn influence with the contrasting deep blues,...
Day #110 – Abandoned house and burned out restaurant in California along HWY 40 en route to the Grand Canyon. ARTPANTS 2 people like this post. NEVERMIND!
Things that were not suppose to be in focus were in focus. History became legend. Legend became myth…. Also, for the first time in ARTPANTS history, you can click on the above image. There’s a 1920×1200 desktop wallpaper sized photo! Something like the grand canyon cannot be fully appreciated at 900 pixels wide! Like this...
