Art Pants is a 365 day-long-daily-photography-challenge, featuring Will Roegge and Linhbergh Nguyen which was started on November 1st, 2009. Our goal is to each publish one photograph a day for an entire year. But different from usual "photo 365s" out there, we've set ourselves a rules to abide by throughout the year:
1. No photos of anything automobile related
2. No self portraits.
Both of those rules are there to prevent us from going the easy route on taking our daily photos, or in other words, to use a crutch. The purpose of this project is to make the both of us think outside of our usual subjects and expand our creative defaults. The harder we make it upon ourselves, the better off we'll be creatively (or so we hope so!) come Novemeber 1st 2010.
We'll also be having different 'theme weeks' throughout the year. These themes could range from different subject matters; places, portraits, grass, sunrises, landscapes, faces, etc, etc. Or it could even be a technical theme; biggest aperature, smallest aperature, slow shutter speeds, 35mm film, camera phone fast action, etc....
We would love to hear your input throughout the course of the year. If you have ANY ideas for theme weeks or shots you'd like to see, let us know!

Day #160 – While in Houston, Texas I got the chance to shoot some drifting in the woods. Normally, drifting takes place in wide open areas or on tracks – devoid of trees. Not in Houston. This secret spot was tree lined and beautifully over-grown. I really liked it and enjoyed being in the shade...

Day #48 – Arenal Volcano looms in the clouds. Did you know its the 12th most active volcano in the world? It has a perfect cone shape is visible from many miles away. Costa Rica, Pura Vida, no? Like this photo! NEVERMIND!
This kid looks like he’s ready to become a Mighty Duck. He’s got that “I’m-going-to-hella-check-the-next-person-that-comes-within-two feet-of-me” look. D: Like this photo! NEVERMIND!
The more I do street photography, the more I realize that I need a telephoto lens. Christmas is coming real soon, and I think I’ve been a good boy this year, Santa! So, how about a nice telephoto in my stocking? Like this photo! NEVERMIND!
Day #23 – While eating at my favorite local joint, El Tarasco, caught a photo of this stare. The allure of greasy mexican food. Like this photo! NEVERMIND!
The hardest part about doing a 365 day daily photo challenge is having to carry your DSLR everywhere. The easiest part is being surrounded by interesting settings like the Mitsuwa market place in Los Angeles. I love signage and the Japanese are masters of fascinating and comical semantics.
